Expert: Matt Bod

Matt Bod is a seasoned brewer and beer judge based in Toronto, Ontario, with a passion for crafting and refining exceptional beverages. Currently an R&D brewer and distiller at Great Lakes Brewery, Matt has spent years perfecting both core and seasonal brews. His expertise in modern mixed-fermentation, barrel-aging, and classic European beer styles has earned him accolades, including 7 consecutive wins for Best Draught Selection at the Golden Tap Awards during his time as Head Brewer at Bar Hop.

In 2023, Matt expanded his culinary horizons by co-founding Slowpoke Food Project with Christina Takaoka, exploring the rich and diverse world of live-fire BBQ. Together, they bring the same dedication and respect for tradition to their culinary endeavors, offering unique and flavorful experiences that have quickly gained a devoted following across Toronto.
