The mother-daughter duo behind Mama Akua’s Ghanaian Food, conceived of the concept in late summer as a means of fundraising proceeds for community organizations that support Black Ontarians.
Combining creativity and a passion for cooking, Mama Akua's began with the goal of making Ghanaian food accessible to everyone. Racial tension and civil unrest being the driving force behind why they wanted to bring the community together. Mama Akua's gave something new to downtown Toronto.
They provide the opportunity for others to experience the taste, aroma, culture, and, most importantly, the love their food comes with.
