Ethiopian Coffee Traditions w/ Eight50 Coffee

Coffee growing is a trade woven into Muna Mohammed's DNA. Coming from a long line of Ethiopian coffee farmers and roasters, her father would recount stories from his childhood in Ethiopia with infectious enthusiasm. Growing up in Canada, she developed a fascination with coffee and knew it was a tradition she wanted to continue.

With her legacy, Muna brought together her love of coffee, community, and entrepreneurial experience to build the responsibly sourced coffee company Eight50.

Muna Mohammed is the founder of Eight50 Coffee a Canadian coffee company.

With deep roots from the birthplace of coffee as well as coming from an Oromo coffee producing family in the Harar highlands of Eastern Ethiopia, she wanted to make an impact by offering responsibly sourced coffee, sharing ancient coffee traditions, coffee history and working with coffee farmers and local artisans to create various sustainable coffee by-products, just as her ancestors did to minimize coffee waste.
