Contract Culinary Role

About Care/Of

Care/Of Productions is an experienced and growing Toronto-based production studio creating high-end culinary events and experiences for a range of corporate and private clients. We produce everything from intimate dinners and high-end brand activations to large off-site events and virtual experiences. We collaborate with a unique roster of talent: chefs, sommeliers, artists, designers, and more.

The Role

We're hoping to find contract culinary collaborator for the summer to support a series of confirmed events. We're looking for someone skilled and self-directed who's excited about working with a small team and taking real ownership of their work.

What You’ll Do

  • Planning, sourcing and prep for events 

  • On-site execution at events 

  • Menu development and practical problem-solving on briefs/event plans

  • Prep for farmers market sampling activations 

  • Other studio work as needed between events

  • Supporting Care/Of chefs with events and prep as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid culinary fundamentals — can prep, cook, and execute without hand-holding

  • Excited about menu development and being self directed 

  • Event or catering experience is great but not required

  • Organized and reliable — you read a brief and figure it out

  • Someone who is comfortable being client facing

The Details

  • $30–45/hr depending on experience

  • Roughly 8–10 hrs/week on average across the summer, with heavier weeks around events (15–20 hrs) and lighter weeks in between. Total confirmed hours are 100–120 for June–August, with more likely to come in as the schedule builds out. Can share confirmed event/prep dates upon request. 

  • Prep will happen at our culinary studio in the Stockyards (St Clair and Keele)

  • Events/work is primarily weekdays

  • Summer contract with possibility of continuing into fall

  • G Driver’s License
